iTunes - what do the ticks mean next to the song name?

    hi, in iTunes next to every song name there is a blue box with a tick in it. what does this mean? the only thing i can think of is if i untick it, it wont but the song on my iPod when i connect it.

    It may be used for something else, I'm not entirely sure, but you are right about the iPod. I believe you have to set your iPod up to only updated checked songs first.

    I don't have an iPod so I'm not sure about that but I do know that if I untick it it will not play the song if it is in a play list and next in line to be played. It will just skip over it and go to the next checked song.

    I use it to manage what goes onto my iPod. I have it set to auto-sync checked songs and then just mix up what is on it from time to time...

    When an iPod is connected, you can select , "Only transfer ticked songs" or something to that effect.

    It's actually quite handy, since I've got a library of 128kbps AAC stuff for my Nano, and for listening through my speakers at home, I've got 256kbps VBR AAC tracks, I just untick the 256 tracks, and then all I've got on my Nano is 128kbps tracks.
