Hello there...

I've just bought a second-hand Macbook Pro to replace my outgoing iMac, I used Time Machine to migrate my user profile/files etc to my new Mac. The laptop has less disc space than my old one so I decided to move my iTunes library (some 200gb) to an external drive. I copied the library folder across, pointed iTunes at it in preferences, and everything plays fine... except...

I can't import CD's, download from the app store or copy video files into itunes , I just get told I "don't have write access for my iTunes music folder", I've been into the folder, amended the permissions, unplugged, rebooted, checked to see if everythings still correct (it is) and I'm still having the same problem...

Any ideas? I'm using iTunes 8.2.1, and OS x 10.5.8.

Thanks

What are the permissions for the external disk itself? Have you tried to copy files to it from the MBP using Finder? What happens when you do?
