Does anyone know if there will be a trial version of iWork '06?

I haven't read enough about the new version to know if it's worth upgrading. About all I can tell is that Pages has 25 new templates and a little more integration with iPhoto.

Was hoping Pages would be spruced up a bit. I'm trying to wean myself off of Word, but Pages is still a little too abbreviated.

I really like Pages, but iWork 06 doesnt seem to be worth purchasing at full price if you have 05. Surely Apple could offer an upgrade price because of the lack of a spreadsheet application.

I mean, it could probably be argued that iLife 06 has enough new features to justify the full price, but definitely not iWork on this occasion.

I think I pretty much agree with you.
Unfortunately, in my zeal to get something new (I have a serious problem with these things...) I just ordered both of them.

I'm a total sucker for these things. It's that "early adopter" gene I have about 4 copies of.

The new Intel Macs are shipping with a trial version of iWork '06 so it seems likely there will be a downloadable trial version soonish...

I think the themes alone make it worth the purchase if you do a lot of work with pages/keynote. If you do like one or two projects every copule of months with it, it's probably not worth it.

    looking through rose-tinted spectacles...
There was a trial included with iLife last year... might be the same this year.

I would say not to upgrade bc there is no major changes unless you could REALLY use the new features in Pages. I myself plan on buying iWork '06 this Saturday only bc I need a word processor and dont have iWork '05, and tried MS Word in the trial and it didnt seem that great, too many features. I like Pages bc its nice and simple, and much cheaper than MS Office where I dont even need all 4 apps. So like I said, just stick with iWork '05, its probably not that much different than iWork '06.

Just bought iLife '06 today (family pack) and there is a 30-day trial of iWork '06 in there.
