I've had bad luck with the search feature on here lately, so apologies if this is a repost.

Anyways, I am running 10.4.2, and now that I am back at school, it was time to toss iWork back onto my computer. I ran the installer, but when it came time for the installation, it said "Installation has stopped because there is nothing to install." After that the program quits.

I am guessing this comes from the installer deal that checks your computer before giving you the install options. When it asks if the separate deal can run, I press okay and it shoots right on to the next page in the installation.

I realize that I'll probably be fine with Office, but I would at least like to get Keynote on here.

    Thanks for your help-T

Note: I did spotlight for previous installations of those apps, but no results. Also, this computer was restored by Apple when it was off for repair in June, but that could be irrelevant too.

Interesting. I got that same error message about a week ago when attempting to reinstall iTunes after a crash. Unfortunately, I don't know how it was resolved.... It somehow ended up working.

Have you installed any version of iWork before this?

Indeed; I got this same error on a brand new computer, and when I checked I found that the "demo" version of iWork is actually the full version sans serial number. Just open up the iWork demo, plug in the serial number that came with the full version, and you're off and running.

Apple probably should've figured out a way to make this clearer, though, especially with iWork demo coming preinstalled on all new computers.

I think that is where the trouble lies...this came with the demo version on the image from when I got it back from repair. I took the folder and pitched it. Now all the pref and help files are still there, and obviously the thing telling it not to install.

Now that school is back, and I have the DVD, no dice. I have no idea what to do. Well back to Powerpoint. Thanks for your help. -t

do a search for all the pref files that belong to iwork and pages and keynote and trash them. then restart the computer... it should reinstall..
