Ha! I have that one too, but I'm cycling between images so it comes up once in a while......still a killer shot!

    My desktop

Well, if I posted my desktop picture, people would probably hound me(I use windows, can't afford a mac). But It is just the regular old WIn Xp theme thingy.

Very nice eyelikeart, that's a great collaboration with Mr. Anderson. This make you two a pair, the only ones on Macrumors to have the same desktop! :p

Same theme as Giaguara, but a flower instead of a weed. I compressed to 800x600

    I usually use home-grown desktops

But I hardly ever think about this one, which is good enough for me. I'm usually a chronic background changer...

I also added a fill flash with my camera to bring in the foreground pylon - worked really well. We ended up doing a bunch of those that night.....:D

The 17 PBook arrived back from its second trip to Germany today, a mere 5 days after being shipped, they've taken my drive abd stuck it in a new machine:D :D :D

Works like a charm at the moment, no sign of the problems (touches wood)

Anyway, here's july (pics on rotation)

Dude....I don't know about across the pond, but over here the phrase is "knock on wood"...however, what you're up to while composing your posts is entirely your own business...

We say "touch something wooden" for luck, but I take you're point.

I see some great desktops this month so far. That shot of the bridge from geekfest is fantastic. Anyway, here's mine. I just got back from a weekend in the Big Sur area, and got some sweet pictures. Here's the current one...

Thanks! No, I haven't put any up on the web yet, I'm still sorting through the 90 or so pictures I took, but that one really jumped out at me.

yeah, i am just so brilliant with my humor that no one could tell i guess. and what's funny is, besides the thing moxie mentioned (losing image quality mainly), in my mind, it doesn't matter whether you do stuff in camera or in post, it's the result that counts.

eye/duke- yeah, that's a cool effect... i took a picture of the stars out at the grand canyon with a bulb exposure (i think around 20 seconds), and at some point my bro took a picture with his flash.... here's the result (notice the tree in the top right.... hard to see on some screens i've noticed):

well it was using my dad's dimage 7 on shutter priority (or maybe on manual, if that's required to get bulb? maybe it is... hmm).... in any case, i'm not sure which iso i set it to, or if it set itself, then you probably know better than i... i'd guess 400 though.

it was literally impossible to see what i was doing and we only had some small little flashlight that i tried to hold and mess with the cam at the same time.

not a great pic overall, but the tree thing was neat.
