hey i just got the new MBP i have a ex hardrive with all my music on it. How do i move it to itunes without all the music saving onto the cpu i want it so when the hardrive is plugged in that the only time you can play the music.

Under the advanced tab in the iTunes preferences there's an option to copy files to the iTunes Music Folder when importing. Untick that and you should be fine.

Check out this article. It explains it a bit better, but basically you just add things to the library as you normally would but iTunes doesn't put a copy in the iTunes folder so iTunes will just reference the files where they are stored now.
