Yep, after much, much, MUCH hard work to get OS X OFF the poor thing, I finally got OS 8.5 up and running. My first two installs were:

    -MDK
    -Sim Ant

    YES!

Tomorrow I'll be putting Sim Tower as well as Sim Earth on there, and I'm looking for a copy of Sim City 2000, along with the "Urban Renewal Kit", so if anyone has any links, I'd appreciate it-- I heard it was available for free now, since it's so outdated..

Any other games you recommend for OS 8.5? Links appreciated!

    Check this out!

(note: photo is pre-OSX-wipe. It's got OS 8.5 on it now)

    Mmm.....Puck mouse :p

Any Mac Abandonware site should have Sim City 2000 to download.

    Brings back memories!

I loved the original Tomb Raider on my old Bondi.

Also played Unreal (just Unreal, no 200X). But it may not look too good on that machine unless you can install the Gamewizard Voodoo 2 graphics card in the mezzanine slot like I did.

I think iCab is the only Mac browser going around that might still support OSGrrrr8.

    Lemme have a look...

Yep, iCab supports OS 8.5 and up. Download is from here: iCab Download.

After Dark ROCKS!!! Though it is kinda buggy from time to time. DL After Dark 3.0 and see how that works for ya. For some reason 4.0 is not offered.

But anyways MDK OMG!!! I played that demo on the PC craving for more. Gotta find a copy of it from somewhere or someone...

Wow Flashback :) I played that a hell of a lot on my Amiga. The whole ambience was incredible. Just pointed and laughed at future similar games like Abes series and 2D Tomb Raiders. So awesome.

Ive been trying for months to get Broken Sword shadow of the templars working on my imac running tiger. As it was launched in 1996, is that why it wont work in os9. will it only work on os8 because we used to play it on a performa. Ive been trying to find somewhere to ask this question for ages.

I bought one of those iMac for about R300 (about $40) in brilliant condition.
Then when I tried to install 10.2 on it, it died and never switched on again:mad:  :( (Now whenever I switch it on, it plays some weird music, and the screen doesn't even go on:confused:

I'm not sure, but this may be because you did not install a firmware update to your mac before installing OS X. I don't know how to fix it, but this may lead you to an answer.

Check online, there are some pages about how to fix that. Just make sure you DON'T reset the Parameter RAM, that can make it a lot worse.

I dunno the specs on the iMac you have, but I'd suggest Deus Ex and Rune. Both really fun games that kept me occupied for many hours/days.

You can probably buy them for 5 bucks a piece somewhere. Maybe even less than that.
