I wouldn't want all my macrumor friends to commit ritualistic suicide if it turns out that there is no iPhone so I decided to go on a mission to find us a very cool little phone as a back up plan. I found probably, for me at least, the next best thing and what I would buy if there is no iPhone. It is the new and yet to be released version of the blackberry pearl, but with full QUERTY! I really like it.

If there is no iPhone, I will be thrilled. I will dance a little jig of purest joy while others weep. Screw the fripperies... It's all about the Macs, dammit.

thats pretty sweet, but i hope it is somewhere between the size of the pearl and the regular size blackberry; i do not want a phone as wide as the current QWERTY blackberries.

I'll super-glue my nano to the back of my pearl, take a pen, write "iphone" on it, and sell it on ebay! ;) :p

Already knew about the Crimson 8800 beginning of October. It looks neat! I'd trade my Pearl for it.

Heh, I'd actually be glad if there was no iPhone. It would make me a feel a bit better about having bought my BlackJack, keep me on the butting edge for a bit longer.

There is no official release date yet. Date depends on which carrier. Seems like Cingular may get the 8900c first.
