is it just mine or does anyone else case not line up when you put the casing shell back on, it has a quarter inch of a gap betwene the panel and the bottem, ive mesaured it and everythings even, ive never abused the case and havent "stretched" it maybe its suppose to be that way???

i was putting in anothe rharddrive and noticed it wasnt lining up it snaps into the top and the back bottom part is pretty lined up but the front bottom is where the gap is.

i notice i have to push alittle hard for the front top part of the case to snap in the top back snaps in without much pressure...is there something up with this casing?

    thanks all

Agreed it sounds like your case got tweaked somewhere along the line.

Picture 39 shows it best to me. Do you by chance have a glass table that you can lay the side panel of the case on so you can see if it's the panel that is warped? Is there by chance something inside the case preventing the cover from going all the way tight? Also the only way you are going to tell if the case is racked is to measure diagonally from corner to corner and see if the measurement is the same or even close. I suspect your side panel is twisted in some way or being prevented from going all the way in. Apple can sell you a new side panel. If it's not covered.

    49 Pictures?!?!?

This might be worse than the typical case of blurry pics (though many are kinda blurry). Call Apple man, or if it isn't hurting the performance then I really would just let it go.

If it does not line up, then I suspect you, or someone else managed to damage it. There is virtually no tolerance build-up on the MacPro. They are manufactured using Statistical Process Control (SPC). If it is damaged, pay for a replacement.

It's not that serious, but you can check with Apple, if you are serious about your things.

anyone know how a side panel could get warped though everything else measures out even?

im just trying to figure out how it could be distorted so much.

If something was preventing the cover from closing properly and it was forced it would twist the panel. It is a sheet of aluminum after all.

Are you sure you are catching the bottom guide tabs correctly? I've seen Mac Pros at Fry's put together like that.

Apple is better then most companies when it comes to their cases, only using templates and what not for their lifespan (usually a press that is rated at 10,000 cases will be used for at least 50,000 cases.

I can see though how one might have gotten by them. I would contact Apple and see about a replacement. Some people don't mind physical imperfections with their computers, but with the cost of a Mac Pro I expect mine to be pristine.

Well bigfoot doesn't spend as much money on Apple equipment, so he can afford to buy a better camera for those family pictures.

yes exactly...in case of reselling in the future itd be nice to have it perfeect wihtout flaws ic ontacted htem and went to apple store and they told me straight up htye wouldnt swap the case out or sell me one, the best i could do is buy a new system and sell the old one.. LMAO!!! right.

idk i guess it doesn matter at this point anymore. i tried a brand side panel but i wedged the thing in there and now theres a gap at the bottom of the side panel and the bottom of the case..ah well i suppose lol

There you go! Bigfoot stood on it! :D

Seriously, if it is warped then it has been forced. Did it fit before the case was opened to put the drive in? That is the important question.

Mine fits with perfect precision - but you have to line up those guides and not foce it if you hit resistance. The aluminum is easy to mar, scatch or bend (I dinked a pit in the handel of my Mac Pro wth a flailing USB cable :( ). One of the reasons I stayed away from the MacBook Pros. Looks nice until it has been warped out of shape by the rough and tumble of everyday life.

it was like that when i received the macpro aswell it was tough to push the front top of the panel on.

nope never touched it before putting the drivein - im not sure why but it doesnt seem likeit should be this difficult my casepanel wont even go on now but everything measured is proportionate so i dontknow...
