Ok So I just ordered a MacBook Pro 2.0 Ghz. It hasn't shipped yet and now they are offering a 2.16 Ghz upgrad for $300. Does anyone know anything about the 2.16? Would it be worth the extra $300 or would I not notice a difference?
    Thanks for the help

I would VERY much doubt there is a $300 difference there.

You might see video encoding times are whatnot reduced some. However, its just not worth the $300 IMHO. :) The machine you ordered will fly.

i agree with the other posts; it's not worth it. (unless the $300 really just doesn't mean anything to you)

Think about it this way. The difference in price between the two computers in 1 year will be less than 100 dollars. That is because the processor may be worth more now but it is not actually worth that much in speed. If you are thinking about an investment and the possible resale value, it is nothing and a bad investment. The whole laptop will depreciate in value but the actual chip itself will not only depreciate but it will depreciate at a much higher rate. The loss of money will be a incredible amount on that minor upgrade that costs an arm and a leg

That is one of those illustrations of something being dangled out there as if it will yield a stunning difference in performance. There is no way that I could justify such an increase in price. Leave your order as it stands and resist all such lame marketing attempts.
