found this in the DreamweaverMX O'Reilly HTML reference - amused me for a minute or two!
I just love postscripts & subliminal messages...
I dare you....
nice find, that is so true though. Now that I think of it, I haven't seen blinking text in quite some time. You almost have to wonder why they haven't got rid of it....
IE doesn't support it. I have used it recently though: http://impactstudios.co.uk/musicians-add.php
I'm not sure whether <blink> works in Safari, i can't stand safari at the moment.
Doesn't work on safari - the "ERROR" wasn't blinking.
that's good to know and probably the reason I haven't seen any blinking text
still works in mozzy based browsers.
One more reason to Safari
I can't stand safari any more! It does have some great features, but there are a few things that bug me beyond belief:
URL Autocomplete is completely illogical and generally just crap
Rendering is still a little temporamental
CSS Support needs to be improved
Tabbed Browsing is pretty crummy too, like the fact there's no "single window" mode - urls from other applications still open in new windows and not tabs!
I might be being picky here, and yes, saf does have some pretty cool features + lightening fast BUT my webbrowser is the app i use the most the thinsg stated above are enough to drive me crazy.
I'm sticking with Firebird (formally phoenix) for the time being. Its way more customisable and reliable (safari seems to "unexpectedly quit" so much that its not unexpected anymore).
Thank you for bringing a smile to my face. Blinking as an attention getter, but still annoying!
Check your Tabs preferences to change that one buddy
Re: just spotted this; it made me chuckle
Thanks for pointing this out .
As bad as blinking text was, I still prefer it to a site full of blinking banner ads. Make no mistake, sites are still 'blinking,' only the code has become a little more complicated.
Catch the monkey, anyone?
that definitely looks like an XP screenshot. am i right? that font antialiasing looks NASTY.
errrr.... am i missing something here?
Mmmm...an absolutely delicious typo! I think someone has a bento box on his mind!
oops - "Temperamental"
whats a bento box?
its in the general pref pane
at the bottom, it says open links form applications in: new window, same window. you want same window, it will open in a new tab if its done correctlly.
According to http://www.zengifts.com/bento_box.asp
"In Japan, lunches and dinners are beautifully packaged in bento boxes and contains a complete nutritious meal of rice, meat, vegetables and pickles all neatly packaged in the compartments of the bento box."
There are also less ornate types that are sold as take-out lunches -- very popular, I understand.
hehe - oops. thanks for that
still don't get this bento box thing
The bento box is used to serve Japanese food.
You described something as "temporamental" -- a combination of the words "tempora" and "mental".
Tempora is a kind of Japanese food.
I suggested that you might have a bento box (possibly containing "tempora" for lunch) on the mind ("mental").
That was it. Sorry if you were looking for something wittier -- I'm no Oscar Wilde.
the penny drops! Thanks mate - i've never eaten japanese hence my confusion
