My iPod nano is now fully charged connected to about a 4 year old Apple dock. The iPod says: "Connected. Eject before disconnecting". I was just wondering if I am supposed to leave it on the dock 24/7 leaving this screen on, possibly damaging the screen, or is it supposed to turn off after x minutes

The screen will stay on. It won't hurt anything. You can eject the iPod and leave it in the dock and the screen will shut off as normal.

When ejecting though the screen just dims and displays the "Charged" icon. I find I have to take the connector out of the dock to make it turn completely off.

Just seems weird why it doesn't automatically turn completely off after an extended period of non-use.
