What key command can I press when I want to highlite multiple items. In Windows I would press the ctrl or shift key while selecting different items with the mouse. That would highlite the items, then drag them to the trash bin. What is the command for OS X to highlite multiple items?

⌘-click will select discrete items (non-contiguous). Shift-click works as you'd expect (contiguous).
