Hi everyone,

I was wondering how big the Keychain Folder under Mac OS 10.8 is supposed to get. After nearly running out of disk space on my 2011 MBA, I figured the Keychain folder was taking up near 20 gigs of precious disk space.

A deletion (as recommended by an earlier thread), seemed initially to solve the problem. However I soon realized that most new keychain files was taking up to 5.9 of MB.

Is this considered normal?

Keychain file 209 GB on a 250 GB drive

My keychain file is 209 GB on a 250 GB drive. My Lion system is unusable. After repairing the keychain file (and losing all my passwords), further attempts to delete the keychain file have failed even after leaving the system on overnight. There are currently 4,843,244 items in the keychain folder.

What can be done about this?
