BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq’s newly elected parliament chose Kurdish leader Jalal Talabani as its new interim president Wednesday, reaching out to the nation’s long-repressed Kurdish minority and taking one of the final steps toward forming Iraq’s first democratically elected government in 50 years.

Not intending to spam, I should have looked closer and not started another thread on the same topic.

WOW, and it looks like power sharing in a part of the world only know for power hoarding!

I personnaly see this and the vice pres backgrounds as extremely wonderful. Of course time will only tell, I can only hope that things like honor, humility, and magnanimousness reign!

Wow, what an unexpectedly cool development. :)

Keep in mind he's the interim president. But if he does a good job (and manages to not get assassinated)....
