I'm doing a lot of video editing at the moment, and I'm looking to get a big external hard drive before my internal one clogs up completely. I was about to buy a 500Gb Big Disk, but noticed the new 1Tb one. Has anyone had any experience of these? Are they reliable?

    I've only used the 400GB and 500GB models...rock steady.

You also might be interested in the Bigger Disk Extreme. It's 1.6TB of storage. Look around LaCie's site.

Thanks for that - I've actually decided to go for the "rock steady" 500Gb, as I've read a couple of reviews that say the 1TB (and presumably the 1.6Tb) can be a bit noisy because of the fan, and I'm a fan of peace and quiet...
