I know this may seem comical at best, bu I've seen on eBay some Wallstreets and clamshells going for like $150, I am thinking of getting an old Apple so I can use it for school, and I'm on like a really, extemely small budget of some savings, what is the smallest I could pay, for a reasonable laptop used?

At least for the clamshell I think you should expect to pay $150-200. And just quickly looking at ebay it looks like that pricing range isn't unusual. Ebay always makes me kind of nervous though.

I would be wary of purchasing a computer off of eBay. eBay is good for smaller items, but just a bit too risky for a purchase of that size, IMO. I realize you are looking for a 1-$200 laptop, not a 1-$2000 laptop, but I've had a few negative experiences with eBay so perhaps I'm a bit jaded.

Do you have any friends who own one of these older models who might be willing to sell it to you?

I would also watch out because they still have fake listings...

But I would check out the marketplace or try to find one local so you can see the condition it is in.

You need at least 100 posts to post in the Marketplace.
