i want to shut my macbook pro without it going to sleep. how do i do this??

I assume it is like the powerbook. You have to plug in the power adapter, a mouse, a keyboard, and a monitor. Then move the mouse and the computer will wake while still closed.

EDIT: I just looked at the MBP manual and it is the same as the powerbook.

If you just want to keep it running without the screen being on, you could dim the screen all the way, and shut it just enough to keep it awake.
