Hi folks,

I am going to be at the Apple Store in Las Vegas next week (the one at Fashion Show). Is there anything special that I should look out for?

Anything else cool to visit in Las Vegas? I am looking specifically for techie or Apple-related venues. Thanks!

Alfie

Las Vegas is the wrong town for techie related venues lol. There has been some talk about Las Vegas becoming the next Silicon Valley, but I saw no indication of it when I lived there a couple years ago. Contrary to the general public opinion, Las Vegas is kind of a hellhole

With that said, the Wynn hotel/casino is really cool, so you might want to stop by there :)

Sorry to disappoint. Perhaps someone else will have more to share.

Well I'd hit the AppleStore if I were going to Vegas too 'cause they don't have one where I live, but if you spend all your time in Vegas being a geek you're truly need to get a life!

Vegas is either two or three in my favorite places in the world.

I live here in Vegas. There is nothing special about the apple store at Fashion Show. Just a normal Apple store. It's a nice mall though, lots of cool stores in it. I promise you'll find more to do than the Apple store.

well, myself and four friends are off to Las Vegas over Easter. All the way from England. Don't think I will spend too much time in the Apple Store though :p Well that depends on the 30th Birthday releases

Will be bringing my ibook though - to update my Vegas trip site with daily pics and comments for our friends to get jealous reading.

Any hot tips from you locals? Will be staying at the Venetian and NYNY

all on Red?

Do they have slot machines or any other gambling devices in the Vegas Apple store? That would be pretty cool. Instead of winning tons of coins in the slot machine make apple products the prize. Like quad core G5 with Quadro FX 4500 and 30" Cinema for the dollar slots:cool: . When you cash in your chips from other games you can choose Apple products or cash:p

Personally I wouldn't go to any tech related places in Vegas. Maybe that Star Trek adventure casino if it's still around.

How disappointing indeed. I don't believe in gambling and so I guess that I will be up in Henderson and Sommerlin most of the time.

I will be doing some Apple shopping regardless. In fact, what startles me is that the Apple Store Fashion Show isn't showy even though it's in one of the most ostentatious places in earth...

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

I don't gamble particularly. I've lost a cumulative £40 over two 5 day trips to Vegas so I'm a minimum stakes for a laugh type person but have never been bored and have never made it to the Fashion Mall for the Apple Store (to be fair, it was only there for one trip)

There so much to do suspending your disbelief at the sheer OTTness of the hotels/casinos and people. I've got a sadly poor photo of a row of machines with two wheelchairs parked haphazardly at the end of a row of slots while two elderly women feed the machines perched on stools.

Between that and side trips to the Canyons, it's quite easy to spend time in Vegas and not gamble particularly
