Link: Leopard Screenshots Contest Winners: Better Than The Real Cat?
Description:: A few weeks ago, Phill Ryu offered a bounty of over a thousand bucks worth of software for the best fake Leopard screenshot, with three prize packages put together by 28 software company sponsors. Today, the winners have been announced, and they're well worth a view, with comments from panel members including Delicious Monster's Wil Shipley, NewsFire's David Watanabe, AppZapper's Austin Sarner, IconFactory's Gedeon Maheux, and more. Enjoy! Just be warned this might make WWDC a little bit disappointing!

Really? No comments on that article? I was entertained by it...

Patterson's Finder could be interesting, and Ziarek's "Family" idea for iTunes definitely has it's place in the real-life world.

I like the ideas of the first place winner. The second and third seem dumb to me. The first runner up I think deserves 2nd place, and actually visually I think is the most likely. The first place, while probably the coolest, a lot of it doesn't seem very likely to me.

I was really getting into the 1st place winner's ideas, but then stepped back and realized how cluttered everything is.

I still like it.. I'm just not so sure about it.

As a "screenshot" contest I think it was kinda off the mark. OBVIOUSLY, none of the entrants would have REMOTELY passed for one second as an actual screenshot.

They remind me of a new developer for Vista. "You're assignment for today is to conceptualize our new Vista 2009 operating system." The developer proceedes to take every idea he ever read in an online forum and bolt it all onto one window. Just because I like spaghetti, pizza, preow wan, german potato salad, frog legs, ice cream, and beer doesn't mean they all go good together ont he same plate! (unfortunately)

Link works now - probably too many hits from Redmond . . .

Maybe this will cause another delay of Vista while MS adds some "innovations". ;)
