Can you visit the home page of ScienceBlogs and tell me if the font at the bottom of the quote is messed up, as it is here in this picture? I'm trying to get our developers to address the issue and I want to know if it's just a local problem on my computer or if it affects all Leopard users.

The quote is about 1100 pixels down on the right side of the page.

I've been seeing it this way ever since I installed Leopard -- on both Firefox and Safari.

Yes, it looks just like it does in your image. I've actually noticed several fonts that look different in Leopard, though none that are messed up like that one.
