Look at the banner at the top...

Mac OS X Leopard: Introducing Vista 2.0

    Click Me!

    I love apples approach..

EDIT: After reading some of the comments from the digg headline (where i got the link from), some people are saying that it DOES NOT say Vista. I think it does, Because it reminded me when Apple did the same thing when they were introducing Tiger 10.4

A matter of time before they have to take that down. But it's funny nonetheless. Way to go Apple.

Because Microsoft won't be too exited about Apple making fun of an OS they have spent years developing.

Look at the second link in my OP. Microsoft didnt do it then, and I dont think they'll do it now.

I tried to look at your link, but it doesn't seem to work. It just goes to a nonexistent server called Click%20me!.

    :(

Yeah, I do think you have a point. If this turns out to be true - it'll just be further proof that Apple knows it's ahead of the game, and wants to market itself that way.

We'll just have to wait and see what's new in Leopard first, but I really like the idea of directly bashing Microsoft in this way like they did at the last WWDC.

I think it says "Vista" for the simple reason that I can't think of any other logical thing it might say.

I think Apple thinks Tiger is better than Vista (and they're probably right), so that doesn't necessarily mean anything big from Leopard. I hope Leopard is a big release, but I'm worried that we know NOTHING about it yet... That could mean Apple was especially secretive this time around (real possibility, because they know Microsoft is watching) or it could mean there is nothing really major to know.

You know what, you're right. I suspect that Apple's just being even more secretive than usual just because Microsoft's watching them closely, and we'll all be pleasantly surprised come the official unveiling of Leopard. I'd be willing to bet that there will be enhancement(s) to Spotlight... it's really cool, but it isn't perfect. For example, building complex queries is harder than it needs to be.

It has to say Vista. I don't know of any other words that begin with "Vi", end with "a" and would fit in that context.

Well if Microsoft wants, they are more than free to make a banner that says Windows Vista: Now Introducing Mac OS 10.3 :p

A very ballsy banner to be sure. I just hope Apple have the balls to back it up. I think they need to pull something out the bag with Leopard if they're to continue growing their market share after Vista arrives given that using Intel chips is causing more and more people to draw like-for-like comparisons between the two OS's.

I was unimpressed with the MacBooks and, so far, with the *cough*PowerBooks*cough* MacBook Pro's. Is the innovation still there? I think I'm going to explode before I find out!

    Vista = 10.3? Uh, uh! 10.0 more like! :D

As for Apple being ahead of the game, I don't think so. It's more a case of Microsoft being behind the game...
