Is a Linksys Wireless G Router the same as a AirPort Express Base Station with AirTunes?

If you are just using it as a wireless base station, then yes, but if you want to stream your music through itunes, the airport express is the only one that can let you do that.

ipacmm is right, it will let you use wireless internet, but you won't be able to stream music. However, if you want a router for just internet, I'd recommend the Belkin router over the Linkskys. We have a Belkin router at home and it works flawlessly, we can use it pretty much anywhere throughout the house with good signal and speed.

I have the LinkSys WRT54G. Works very well. Very happy with LinkSys products.

As noted above....not for streaming audio to your stereo.....

actually over all belkin products aren't that great, they definately aren't the worst or anything but...

That linksys router is a really good router. I imagine this above what you would want to do but that linksys runs linux and can be made to run customized firmware which allow some pretty nice things.

    linksys is pwned by Cisco

Cisco makes the best networking hardware ever.

I would go with the linksys

airtunes is neat though... making my decision on what to get a little difficult.

anyone know the company that supplies the internals for AE?
