Ok, I don't have a Mac as of yet, but I'm wondering if anyone can give me some info on Mac gaming. The sites that I have found are severly out of date and don't have reviews of the REVC Powerbook, which is what I'm looking at getting. I'm interested in some real world numbers of the following games on a 15" 1.5 512 MEG RAM/ 128 Video/ 5200 RPM HD.

    SimCity 4
    Unreal Tourny 2004
    Ghost Recon
    Splinter Cell
    Star Wars: KOTOR

Also if you could tell me what you think about the resolution of the 15"powerbook with games. Give me your opinions people! :) Thanks.

    Hmm.....

A PowerBook is not really a gaming computer... but your hardware isn't bad for gaming :)

The sites best consulted for (gaming) performance are:
    BareFeats
    xlr8yourmac
    InsideMacGames

Check 'em out. I hope some info for your config is listed there.

    WoW > you

As to the original topic... the G4 is continually becoming out of date... if you're going to buy a Mac for gaming I'd suggest you not waste the money. Otherwise if you're absolutely strapped for a laptop, wait til Macworld and see if they come out with new PBs, and if not, grab a 15".

i'm shocked the KOTOR runs as bad as it does on my PB (see sig). no matter whether or not i have it at 800x600 with everything turned down or 1024x768 with everything higher, still runs like crap. if i start turning on AA or AF then it REALLY starts being unplayable. i haven't played it since i installed the latest patch for the game and installed 10.3.7 so i'm hoping that those helped in some way.

    WOW < PORN

P.S Don't get a Mac for gaming. And for pete's sake don't get a Powerbook for gaming. After dropping $3k on it, it will perform like $500 eMachine in games.
