I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) and a Logitech M545 mouse. The mouse is not recognized in Logitech Control Center, and when I uninstalled the Logitech Control Center, and installed USB Overdrive, I can reprogram left mouse button, right house button, and scroll wheel click.

I cannot program buttons 4 and 5 on my mouse, which are on the side of the mouse. To the software, they aren't even there. Can someone help address whether this is a mac issue with not recognizing buttons 4 and 5?

Thanks in advance.

I've been a Logitech mouse user for years, but I've NEVER used the Logitech mouse control software.

Instead, I use "USB Overdrive". It gives me access to ALL the buttons.

Another alternative mouse controller is "SteerMouse".

I suggest you consider some experimentation with either of these...
