Since Mudbug is coming over and following on from this thread (new one started so that people realise something is actually happening!), we need to get something organised.

Mudbug is over from 20-23 July which is Wednesday to Saturday and is staying near Mayfair so central London venues it is this time. Since people often have work drinks on Fridays, shall we say Thursday 21 as a first date unless it's not good for everyone?

Mudbug suggested meeting up at the Apple Store which is as easy as anywhere else (with the added advantage that if we can't find one another, we can always start a thread on MR saying which part of the store, we're in :p )

Who is planning on coming along? Are we looking for a pub that's likely to have room for 5 or a pub with room for 15? Any suggestions for favourite pubs round Regent St/Soho?

I'll be around, and I'm pretty flexible on time/location, so if the 21st doesn't happen, just slot me in to the new date.

I don't drink, so I can't help you with pubs etc, but there are some good cafes on Carnaby Street etc.

I think the 21st is good. I personally like the Argyll Arms which is very close, easy to find and offers a great range of booze as well as having space to stand outside if it's a nice day. All in all it's great :)

I wish I could take the time off... I can fly there "free"

Maybe I'll make it another time

Can someone do me a favour and nick the Bug's return flight ticket to delay this gig ??

    No ?

Oh well, I tried. Have a nice time folks.

I'll be watching motorbikes wizzing round Donington on those days, but as for a pub.
The Duke Of Argyll is a good 'un.
    Brewery St I think.

Or for somewhere a little smaller The John Snow, Broadwick St.

Both do good beer (Samuel Smiths and Ayingerbrau) and good food.

    Have a good time...

OK - looks like we have a plan!

So Thursday 21 July at the Argyll Arms (Oxford Circus nearest Tube stop) and we'll be there between 6-7pm at least before possibly moving on for more drinks/food.

Looking forward to seeing some of you there!

I'm afraid that I don't think that I can make the 21st anymore :( I've discovered that I've already got a booking to see some comedy that night. Have a good time if I don't make it!

Ooh, how exciting! I was gonna be in London on Friday night, so if I can wangle it that I come on Thursday instead, I'm in. I will phone me mum this evening and see if she'll put up with me wandering in after a couple of beers. :p

So are we meeting at the pub at 6, or in the Apple store before that?

Nah, I'm clinically allergic to alcohol and I have a history of personal violence when drunk, I've been teetotal since I was 17 and before I got both my black belts and your home address... ;)

    Heheh.. :D

If I came, I'm sure I would recognise a couple of faces from the Regent Street opening.. But if its gonna be more pub orientated, its not for me.

Kudos for realizing a problem. Chances are you have just as good a time as everyone else. You would also be the one that everyone can count on as the designated driver. ;)

Bugger, I'm not going to be around then, away on a business trip. But I'm hoping I'll be around for the MR meetup part deux - celebrating the return of the Blue!

Shame, I was hoping to put some faces to names. Hope you guys have a great time. Looking forward to hearing the salicious details in the followup thread! :p
