I had no idea that there was these renovations going on... show how much of a Machead I am. I'll have to find an excuse to go and have a look now, but I must admit the whole retail experience there has left me a little cold about it.

I stopped in yesterday because I was walking up Regent St and wanted to price the iTrips.

Nothing much looks different downstairs but once you get up the stairs, holy cow is it enormous! Much airier up there... you could play a football game in the middle of the floor - but the theatre is way, way further back. It should be good for the Live in London events which did get a little crowded.

The split of the Genius bar into Mac and iPod version should be a good thing; I know I used to get frustrated by the iPod numpties who were taking up appointments just to learn how to reset it.

But it was still packed with backpackers checking their email... the only 'free' computers were the little iMacs in the kids corner

Thank goodness that's all finished. It was getting cramped in there and the last thing I bought I ended up getting online because they didn't have the room to stock it at Regents St.

BTW Applespider, have you been designing ads to go on Tube trains by any chance?
