constitution? what constitution?
This is barbarism.
You've got an old tower we can borrow, no?
Yeah, but it's full of junk at the moment.
It just gets better...
This beggars belief.
Hm, lifetime imprisonment without charge or trial. Who voted for these sick bastards?
What can we do? Will writing to our congressmen help at all? Or the administration claim this falls under the purview of "executive priviledge during 'wartime'"?
On a related note, I like how the administration unilaterally declared a "war", then started claiming wartime powers that would make a decent person's stomach turn. And the congress has so far let them. The system is broke.
God-fearing, bible-toting all-American CHRISTIANS.
I'm a Catholic and I would never vote for these nuts, so religion has nothing to do with it.
I don't blame those who voted for Bush; I blame those who didn't get off their asses and vote for Kerry. Especially the 18-24 age group.
The people who said morals matter most voted Bush in.
self-professed moralists. meh.
You cant be serious. There is no excuse for ignorance and bigotry on part of the people who voted for Bush.
Everyone should be calling their Senators and Representatives and telling them in the strongest terms that this behavior is totally unacceptable. house.gov and senate.gov give easy access to looking up the correct telephone numbers.
Being a Catholic is almost French. You're not a real American at all.
I blame the Democrats for failing to score in an open goal.
I also think that Kofi Annan should speak up about this: what's he got to lose? He seems to be regarded as the next thing to dogsh*t by most Republicans already, and this is in clear breach of every standard of human rights and every standard of civilized behaviour.
'What profiteth it a man if he gain the whole world and lose his own soul?'
Some ideas are just not worth the candle.
Long-Term Plan Sought For Terror Suspects
Plan? What is this plan you speak of?
I think it's pretty obvious that there isn't much planning going on. This is pretty much a play-it-by-ear war. We should just admit we don't know what we're doing, but that would mean admitting we made a mistake. Another no-no in this administration.
Considering our next Attorney General advocates torture because well, they do it to us and he's an improvement over the last guy, I don't have much faith in our current system. Let the Dems and people like McCain speak up, it falls on deaf ears. Until they realize that condoning things like this is what makes people hate us, not protesting it... they just won't get it.
I'm sad that this still rings true.
