Longhorn pushed back, again..

    I wouldn't be surprised if it took longer :rolleyes:

    Mind you to ensure that doesn't happen more features will just be removed, that is if there are any left :D

    i know the search, avalon, and the filesystem have been removed right? so what will make it different than XP now?

    Same thing that made OS 8 better that OS 7. Eye-candy.

    But OS 8 had a new filesystem, HFS+ (or was that 8.1?).

    2007? well by 2007 we'll all be using Powerbook G5's with OS 10.5; 64 bit processing, hologram display like in Paycheck ( LOL) :p

    while longhorn will just be Windows XP for 64 bit processors ... haha haha haha

    Yeah, they said they were having problems with the search, they're probably waiting for searchlight :)

    Tiger will feature Spotlight, though I can see a future version of Windows having an 'innovative and revolutionary feature' called Searchlight that sits in the Start Menu and has a quick indexed search of meta-data.


    However, if I've read correctly, the now axed MS search function for Longhorn required that the user went through all their files and added meta-data, it DID NOT automatically parse meta-data from files the way that Spotlight will.

    Oops, that's what I meant, Spotlight, not seachlight :rolleyes: :eek:
