Will we start seeing Apple offering alternative OS's in the build to order option? Maybe this would be a good thing as far as an increase in system sales. But then again it could also come out negatively like the licensing did.

This takes mostly that its coming... Its not a race to get to 2.6... its a race to get the best Linux.

    gerlitzappel -- never.

Apple learned from 'the clones' that 'clones' are not good.

Also apple would they have to support say... Their products like iLife on whatever Os they installed...

    Nope.

Also -- Is it me or does MacBytes seen to be becoming more of free publicity?

this will never happen. there is one reseller out there who is authorized to install yellow dog on apple machines and resell them, but directly from apple will be a no go.
