OK, I've looked through the Geek Squad website and have seen no indication that they work on Apple Macs. Is this so?

The reason I'm searching is that I was watching cable last night and at the very beginning of a Geek Squad commercial is a woman sitting behind a desk hitting some keys on her keyboard. However, her computer is repeatedly making the sound of the Mac OS 9 error chime. It was either the "basso" or "sosumi."

Anyone else noticed this ad before?

They do indeed support Macs. I had to have one come out to my house (Special Mac Agent) but canceled before they got here. Fixed it myself. :)

All the agents at the Geek Squad at my Best Buy are neo-nazi Windoze worshippers. They denounce all Mac users and never recommend such a wussy OS. Anyways, they would lose money if everyone had a Mac.

NEVER send your Mac to the Geek Squad. I know several people who have had their Powerbooks fried by them and they refused to replace it or pay for the repairs...

OK. I had no idea they supported the Mac platform. Just struck me as odd...

Of course, I have never had to take my machines anywhere for issues, first because I've never had any significant issues with any Apple products I've owned and secondly I have been able to tackle any issues that have risen on my own.

I guess its a mixture of good fortune (good product as well) and plenty of researching and learning exactly how they are built and operate.

    Get it right, man!

That is so funny! I noticed that too! Glad to know I'm not going crazy. I hate it when advertisers don't do their homework. Have you ever seen the show Monk? On some of the previews or ads for the show, there is one scene where they show an old beige - what looks to be a PC - monitor with keyboard and yet the screen shows the OS X desktop. It just looks odd to see OS X shown on an old computer like that.

I'm such a nerd...I used to love pointing out to people when there is a Mac in a scene of a movie or show like Carrie's laptop in Sex in the City or Scully's laptop in XFiles.

BTW, the sound you hear in that ad is sosumi. It's an old classic sound and it makes me ill in a nostagic sorta way when I hear it in that ad. Takes me back to the days in HS on an old LC575 with the tiny screens! :p
