I have the weirdest problem with MacMail. Whenever my grandmother emails me, it doesn't come through. I can get it on my fastmail pop webmail, so it's obviously getting delivered, but MacMail isn't downloading it when it connects to my account.

It's not that the message rules are downloading it to the wrong folder, because I checked that.

It's not that it's being deleted as junk mail, because I don't have any filters set.

It's not that I'm having a problem with poping webmail and downloading to MacMail, because I've never had the problem with any other messages (or at least, so I hope, but then again, how I can really know?)

Anyone have any idea why MacMail hates my grandma so much?

It is most unlikely that your email provider is refusing to download your grandmother's messages to the exclusion of all others. However, all you have done is to tell us that you perceive a problem. If you expect help, then you must give us specific information about your situation:

    What is your mail provider?
How do you access it--POP3, IMAP, Exchange, AOL, .mac, whatever?
What is your grandmother's mail provider?
How does she access her account?
    What are your webmail settings?

(I am aware of no mail client named MacMail. Apple provides aka Mail with MacOS X. It is important that you use the correct names of your problematic applications. This avoids confusion and saves time.) At any rate, do your mail settings allow the download of old mail or mail that you have already opened?
