I have a 8GB of memory out of a 2012 Mac Mini, can I put this in a Mid 2011 Mac Mini?

I have a chance for getting a 2011 mini cheap, if I can use the 2012 memory in it, it might be worth picking up for a media server. Not so sure, if I have to buy the memory.

yes it does, 2011 supports up to 1866mhz. 2012 supports up to 1600mhz.
So the 2012 1600mhz ram will work as 1600mhz in the 2011.

Probably it works. Mac mini 2011 support up to 1333MHz ddr3 and mac mini 2012 support up to 1600MHz memory.
Almost always memory can work with slower speed, as what it is specsed...
