Here is a Mac Mini Mod, Take a look right now
I am waiting patiently for someone to post pics of the mini mounted in their car. I hear its DIN size.
That's blasphemous! Anyone else think so?
I read that whole article and the three pages of the forum thread linked to it. It's neat the guy is so dedicated, but a FW repeater/hub would have been far less trouble and cost. The single FW port limitation of the Mac mini is easily overcome. He's using it as a file server, but the mini's 10/100 networking means there's no advantage to using drives directly connected to the mini's IDE bus compared to using drives connected via FireWire. I figure gigabit networking wouldn't even give the advantage to directly connected drives, or it'd be a small difference.
Maybe FW enclosures cost way more where he lives, but over here you can get a decent one for around $45.
Not my car, but I found these on another forum while using google to search for mini pics.
