Mac Mini Ps/2 connector problems

My relative has recently purchased a mac mini and he brought his pc keyboard and mouse over to the mini. He had to get a ps/2 to usb connector to plug the keyboard and mouse into the mini but now whenever he wakes up his computer the mouse is gone and he has to restart the computer to get the mouse back....if he wakes it up with the keyboard than there is no problem

chill its my uncle, i'm in the 21st century but sorry that he doesn't have a lot of money to afford every single mac product

Surprisingly enough I can buy a lot of PC input devices here and here. They'll work just fine and don't have Apple logos all over them.
