It half-changed at 7.5.1. The boot logo said Mac OS, but the About This Computer box still said System Software.

The next generation of the Mac OS won't be available for years. I remember Steve Jobs saying the previous OS lasted for 15 years, and he believed this generation would last just as long.

When going on about the "Three Transitions" in Apple's history during monday's Keynote, Jobs said that the second transition, OS9->OSX, "set us up for the next 20 years".
