I just bought this great new video recorder, only problem is the software is only written for DOS boxes:mad:
iPhoto recognizes *a* camera when I plug it into the USB port, but does not see any of the files.
What are my options, apart from returning the damn thing and getting my money back? :(

Its a video camera right? Are you trying to take stills or movies off the camera? Shouldn't you be trying iMovie?

The camera stores footage on a harddrive right, not MiniDV tape? Do a search for harddrive, MPEG2, and/or MiniDVD in the Digital Video forum and you'll find threads telling you how to transcode the footage the camera shoots into something iMovie can edit.

If you just bought the camera and can still return it for a MiniDV camera I would. A MiniDV camera will offer greater image quality and won't require you to jump thru any hoops to get it to work w/your Mac.
