Another question pops up as am preparing to get a new (or recent used) macbook. I've been just reading a French Mac magazine (SVM Mac if anyone interested). They claim that the 60GB HD of the 1.83 lower end macbook is faster than the 80GB drive used by the more expensive 2GHZ mid range macbook. Acorrding to them this fact cancels most of the speed advantage of the faster (and double cache 4MB) 2GHZ CPU (I imagine with RAM upgraded??). Is that true? Haven't seen this elsewhere and I'm puzzled as both drives spin at 5400 RPM.....

Thanks for any relevant information :)

Look at it like this- You can upgrade your hard drive any time that you aren't satisfied with it.

How easy is it going to be to upgrade your processor?

    Go with 2Ghz :apple:

    Hi there.

Well, there are always ways to colorize numerical data.

At the end of the day, between these two models there is a US$ 150.00
price difference (student discount in US) which reflects the little bump
speed, superdrive, extra 20Gb, double cache.

In my honest opinion, the only thing that matters is the DVD burner.
If you need it, all other differences are "freebies".

Will you PLEASE just at least pretend that you know how to use a search engine? Or at the very least look it up on Apple.com.

Yes, it has a dual layer DVD burner. Most of the information comparing specs is under the store --> Macbooks --> compare specs --> complete specs.

Yeah ... go with the 2 GHz, although the actual difference in speed isn't worth discussing.
