    Hey MR people,

In the last 24 hours I've been asked by no less than 5 people about va couple of macbook issues and I wanted to check in at MR to see what the deal is.

4 of those five have horrendous discoloration problems on the palmrest area. I told them that they should call up apple and the rest will be repaired/replaced. Is that correct? Has apple silently acknowledged the MB discoloration problem?

The second is less common, but I'm sure I've heard something about it before. The hinge on this person's laptop is 'cracked.' and while it doesn't cause problems with ordinary functioning of the machine, she's worried that the crack will turn to a break at an inopportune moment. Is this also something that apple has addressed. It's odd. My MB is a week old, hers is a few months and the materials seem much different. Mine seems more sturdy, whereas hers is not quite as good.... anyway, what's up with the hinge on the MB's?
