ok so here's the deal. before yesterday my macbook was running perfectly and the battery health was at about 95% after 5 months of use. but after using it to take notes during 3 classes i pretty much drained the battery completely until it went to sleep on its own. ever since then i've been having problems. so when i got home, i charged up the battery and first noticed that the magsafe indicator light would keep changing from green and orange every second while the battery indicator in the menu bar would keep jumping back and fourth from being charged to charging when the battery was reported to be 100% charged. after i noticed that, i ran coconut battery and noticed the health went down to 85% after 1 additional cycle and figured i calibrated the battery wrong, so i let it drain all the way down again, turned it off overnight, and charged it up all the way this morning, but it got worse. the magsafe still switches colors every second and the battery health dropped to 77%. im also experiencing random shutdowns now since ive noticed this battery issue and its never done this before. is there anything i can try doing before taking it in to the genius bar? also, here's the screencaps from coconut battery from last night and this morning.

    Call Apple

The same happend to me, bought my MacBook in May. I just called Apple and they are sending me a new battery right away - even without Apple care.

Did you recalibrate it? Use the computer till it automatically shuts down and the sleep light goes on. Let it sit for several hours until the sleep light dies and then recharge the battery fully without using the computer.

Take the battery out (while your computer is off of course)
and look at it from the side.

Does it bulge from the center at all?
