I recently sent my daughter's MacBook to Apple for repair of the discolored hand rests and track pad that they have agreed is a manufacturing defect
and have agreed to repair under AppleCare. I boxed it carefully in the box provided by Apple and sent it off via their specified carrier. They called me two days later to tell methat the display was cracked and was not covered under warranty and how would I like to pay for the nearly $800. repair charge. The display was not cracked when it left my house. Apple says the box was not damaged when it was received. Is it possible that the cold temperature the computer was subjected to during the flight to the Apple Repair Center could have cracked the display? Has anyone had a similar experience to this?

Ok i see a couple scenarios here. 1: you didnt realize the computer already had a crack in it. 2: some retarded technician cracked it and doesnt want to tell his boss. 3: it was damaged in shipping.

Either way you dont feel at fault right? Well if i were you and apple wouldnt pay for it, i sure as hell would never spend another dime on their company. I would buy a winows laptop and run linux. Thats just me. Its your money dude and you should know there are options. What happens is people get acustomed to putting up with crappy service, so eventually we are actually conned into thinking its our fault or that the company is the victim. When in reality you are the one they should be servcing. You already gave them your money, now they want more. See what i mean? The best way you can walk up to steve jobs or the head of apples customer service department and give them the finger, is by simply not spending one cent on their products. End of story. Im sorry but im just tired of apples customer service. :D
