My precious 2.0 white macbook with 2 gigs of ram hasn't been a happy camper as of late. It tends to squeal, scream, shriek and crackel from its speakers randomly and with no cause or counter effect. It happens when there is something making sound, it happens when there isnt. It happens when I am taxing it and it happens when i'm not.

It isnt that big of a deal. But I don't want my precious to go esplodey on me.

    Help?

Thanks, going to the apple store tommorrow, was wondering if anyone here could shed any light on the situation instead of linking me to apple support

I've been hanging around this forum for the past month almost constantly, and have never heard of this problem. That's why Apple would probably be more of a help to you. It could be a hardware failure in the sound system, or more specifically, could be a short in your speakerwires. Call apple support, and they'll probably organize a replacement/repair.

Did you get water in your macbook's speakers?

long shot, but your hard drive might be dying, although when it happened to my Dell desktop it sounded a lot more like a kitten mewing than any sort of screaming or crying or something.

Take it into the apple store - they'll figure it out.

Nope, no water, and it sounds like speaker problems, i've ran hard drives dead and this doesnt sound like a hard drive issue
