    Hey everybody,

Long time reader, first time poster. I recently made the switch to Mac (yay) with the new macbook and am loving it. That being said, I am havinf issues with the Superdrive. I have a bunch of DVD's that I decided to make back-ups of to take with me to school while leaving the originals home with my parents. I have been using Toast Titanium 9 and DVD-R's.

The problem is that after I rip the original DVD and burn the data to a blank DVD-R, my drive will refuse to read DVD-R's for quite some time afterward. I will slide in a new blank DVD-R in order to burn a new disc, and I will just get an alternating "alarm sound." It doesn't not sound like the disc is spinning and after 10 seconds the DVD is ejected. When I pop in the commercial DVD, the drive recognizes it just fine.

Do you guys know what is going on or what I can do to remedy this? I have heard so much about the mac community, so I am ready to receive some love. Thanks.
