I just got my macbook and I love it so much. But After I installed all my programs (Word) and music, I Went and did a software update. When it was done it asked to restart and so I did. Then when I wait for it to reboot, I get a circle with a slash in it on the screen with the apple logo flashing over it periodically. I dont know whats wrong, but I didnt expect such problems from a mac.

    SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!!!!!!!!!!

Does it look like a no smoking sign (minus the cigarette)??????

I found that to fix it, you pop in your restore disc, and do an Archive and Install, that way nothing gets deleted, you just go back to 10.4.5

Then redownload the update, and install, but make sure to be doing NOTHING with the update is installing and restarting!

    Should work for ya.

Yes, that is the symbol. But I turned it into the computer store to get it fixed since I feel they know what they are doing. They also said it was a hard drive problem, or something of the sort.
