macbook magsafe on a macbook pro

    and vide versa. it works, can somebody please tell me why its not a good idea and which component it is like to damage. if i could just carry one charger (the smaller macbook one too) for mine and my girlfriends notebooks it would be good.

    I tried it with my macbook magsafe on my friends macbook pro. The LED on the magsafe went orange and the power indicator said (1:30) left to charge, so I assume it would have charged all the way. I'll bet if he was running something that cranked up the processor and GPU it would have run but not charged.

    The Lower power adapter(macbook) wont charge the Macbook PRO in as quick a time... it will take alot longer to reach full charge.

    The downside to using a MacBook adapter with a MacBook Pro. :eek:

    But if it saves you from buying a new adapter, what the heck, go for it. :)
