"So it's almost uncanny that Jobs, nearly ten years from the day the PowerBook 2400 first saw light, will revitalize Apple's footprint in the sub-notebook sector with a petite MacBook that promises to be everything a modern day 2400 should be, and much, much more. (Ironically, it also took the company nearly a decade to introduce a notebook that was more compact than the original PowerBook 100. The Titanium PowerBook G4 introduced in 2001 measured 127 cubic inches compared to the PowerBook 100's 168.)"

It's almost impossible for me to get excited about any new Apple products until they have proven themselves for year or so. Apple's ability to produce first generation products without serious hardware issues is next to zero. I expect this to be the same, and for Apple to gradually fix the issue while high-paying customers beta test and report problems.

I used to be really excited about new announcements from Apple and want to order immediately, but after the last generation powerbook G4 15" and the the macbook/mbp i just don't think it's worth it anymore.

Cynical? Yes, absolutely. Let's also see if this is more than a rumor...
