I've been the proud owner of a Macbook Pro (2.16ghz Core Duo, 2gb RAM et all) since June, and am loving it as my college machine...except for the keyboard. Right from day one, some of the keys, such as the arrow keys, were not perfectly lined up vertically with the rest of the keyboard. Now, some of the keys, most notably the Caps Lock key, do not lie flat--that is to say that it, like a few others, are pitched to the right or left. I wouldn't really care about it, except for the fact that I've gotten one light vertical mark on my screen from the Capslock key. Grrrr. So be it, so there is one small mark. I can deal with that. At this point I just want to get rid of the offending keys, and if possible, get a whole new properly aligned keyboard. Is this something minor enough that I can just take it into an Apple store to be done? Any advice?

    Thanks in advance!

You should take it to an apple store right away and since it's not even been an year since your purchase they will definitely do something about it.

I have a few misaligned keys myself.

However, I'm not wasting my time or Apple's to get them replaced. Now if I get a head hard drive..... then I'll call them.

I can see your point, Marion, but since the flaw damages my screen, I see the replacement as justified.

If it was not damaging your screen then I wouldn't take it in, but damaging your screen is a serious flaw. I think you should take it in and have action taken. Good luck with it and keep us updated! :)
