hi, i'm new, well I've been hangin around for a couple of months.

I am soooo hyped that i've finally committed and have 'switched' (well nearly)

I started thinking of gettting a mac in november last year when i started using imacs at university using final cut pro/Photoshop.

then i remembered reading in a PC magazine(!!) that mac was switching to intel, well i did a wee search on the web to see what the score was and I ended up here.

I got caught up in the whole rollercoaster of rumours, speculation and emotions - whetting my appetite - I was constantly refreshing macromours - i have somewhat of an obsessive personality.

    I ordered my MacBook today - 1.67, 1GB, 80GB and a mighty mouse. :D :D

I've read alot of criticism about the book but it will be more than powerful for my uses - a bit dissapointed with no FW800 or DL - but HELL! Front Row? the screen? the dimensions? fantastic

what i was wondering was - if I have a MacBook AND a windows based PC am I a true switcher? or am I a bi- (operating system user)?

Definitely Bi. Get rid of that Windows Box and then we can talk again. :D

J/K Whatever suites your needs I still have an older windows box around for a couple of apps.

Oh and congrats on your purchase I'm sure you will love it.

    I'd say you're a Mac user.

You'll probably use your Windows based machine less and less. When I bought my first Mac I thought I'd use it a little and mainly use PC. Yeah right, my PC hasn't been on in three months, and that is pretty common for me the past couple years. I go months without using it. :)

The powermac is willing to except inputs at the front so less gay?

Powerbook & MacBookPro are just confused :D

You will end up using windows less and less. And once the spyware takes over, you won't want to invest the energy to fix it. Your mac will keep on keepin on.

    "delivery estimated 15th February"

this has been a tremendous release for me

i know its on it way, and within a month i'll be fondling its hard aluminim shell...sorry i got lost there for a second.

i can't wait to NOT use this windows box apart from storage and maybe a few other things.

I just know the next month is going to be unbareable

I have not used my windows pc, but one time since I have gotten my mac. That time was just to print off my best buy reward certificate because you have to have internet explorer. Never regretted getting a mac. Once you go mac you will never go back. No problems at all. Smoothest operating system ever made. Kinda neat to. Play around with all the different programs. YOU WILL NOT REGRET SWITCHING>>>>>
