I just got my new Macbook Pro and when I go to close the lid it gets tight right before it latches as if its hitting early in the back. Has anyone else noticed this on their macbook pro, or is it just me? I'm worried about it bowing my LCD.

Yeah, I've dropped this question in other discussions and it sounds like its a common problem. As long as applecare covers my LCD in the case that it does get damaged then I'm fine with it. It's good to hear that yours isn't damaged though.

Is there an actual physical contact between the screen and keyboard areas before the display latch catches the hook on the main unit?
