I am going to college for graphic arts in the fall and i am going to be bying a Macbook pro 15.4 inch for my room but other then that i have a few question.

1.) what should i do for a TV should i buy a TV and hook it up to the Mac book so i have two screens or can i hook up the cable that the college provides directly into the mac book and watch tv through that, and if i do that how will that work with video games. I am trying to use the least amount of space so i can get other things in there to.

2.) this is off topic but i heard that the hing on the mac book pros are dumb is that true and if so why is that?

    Thanks

    2. the hinge does not allow the screen to open quite as far as the powerbooks did for instance (my titanium anyway), but for 99% of use it is just fine. It is certainly not dumb :)

#1 Do absoluty nothing about a tv. A total waste of time/money. If tv was food it would be like eating Mcdonalds for 3+ hours a day.

#2 Are you reffering to the hinge or the latch? I havent had problems with my MBP "hinge". The latch is also bug free, however it is a little old fashion compared to the Macbook latch. If you do some research both have there ups and downs.

    #3 Incase you missed #1. Don't get a tv!

I agree with #1. College is a great time to be surrounded by people your own age. If you want to watch tv find a friend with one;at least that way you're being social.

My hinge works great. I've never had any problems with it. I have also never heard of any problems with it. Sometimes I even sit my computer on my dresser and watch a movie while I am in bed. Good way to wrap up a fun night :). As far as a TV, a nice LCD screen might be a good companion to El Gato. It also will be nice if you ever upgrade your computer. I would buy an El Gato and a nice 23" ACD screen. Use that screen to watch your movies or TV. But personally TV sucks for the most part, unless you gotta girl to watch a movie w/ you.. There really is no absolute NEED for it. So El Gato may be your best choice. You can also use the antenna to watch TV while your in your car on your ride back home. :D
